I am a London-based Japanese artist specialising in both portrait and animal paintings. My paintings explore relationships between people, animals, and the spaces they share. Influenced by the Japanese concept of Ma (間), often understood as the meaningful space between people, places, and moments, I am interested in the quiet moments where connection emerges beyond words.

Working primarily through portraiture, I use observation, memory, and reflection to create images that focus on presence rather than narrative. Dogs occupy a central place in my practice. More than companions, they possess a silent yet expressive language that reveals trust, empathy, and mutual understanding. Their gaze often becomes a point of encounter, inviting reflection on the bonds we form and the memories we carry.

I am interested in how we come to understand ourselves through others, whether human or animal. Through acts of looking, remembering, and sharing space, my paintings explore the subtle exchanges that shape our experience of connection and belonging.

Through people, animals, and remembered places, I seek to create spaces for stillness and reflection, inviting viewers to consider the quiet relationships and unspoken connections that continue to shape who we are.
